Climate Change...

All of the data provided in the previous post can be directly related to one of the most prevalent global evils of our generation, threatening to wipe the entire existence of earth if not taken care of- CLIMATE CHANGE.

According to United Nations-

"Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns."

These shifts, though can be caused by natural forces also, have been primarily and vastly driven forward in the recent century by human activities like the burning of fossil fuels of coal, oil and gas. This burning is nowadays happening in almost all situations- driving cars, using Air Conditioners(AC), agriculture, industries, buildings or more- and produces greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane in excessive amounts for the atmosphere's natural balance, and so has led to a rapid increase in global temperature in the phenomena known as global warming.

This increase in temperature only is the reason behind other natural catastrophies since the Earth's ecological system has been tampered heavily, so it leads to melting of glaciers, droughts, water scarcity, forest fires, rising sea levels, flooding, and decline of biodiversity.

Another inter-related topic is sustainability. Basically, sustainability means a sort of goal about existence of human or other life on Earth. However, with the recent Climate change, sustainability of our life has been put into question.

As you can probably see, we have reached a situation where urgency is at all-time high, and it is a 'do or die' situation for us or the later generations, and so in the next blogs we discus the need and precautionary measures for reducing climate change.
